Best dishwasher EVER!
This is the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned. It has a little red light that shines on the floor to let you know it's running, which is needed because otherwise you might not even hear it and know its on. The dishes come out spotless and it has so much room that I almost run out of dishes before it's even 3/4 full. The top rack for knives and other small items is great also. I have never enjoyed washing a load of dishes this much in my life. I have an open kitchen that faces into my great room and doing dishes was always a problem due to the noise, which interfered with the TV, so I always had to do dishes at night.. No more. I can do dishes anytime and no one even knows the unit is running. I cannot say enough good things about this dishwasher, it is so great. I've had it over 2 months now and still love everything about it. I am so glad I purchased this and would highly recommend it to anyone considering buying a dishwasher. It looks great in my kitchen also. I cannot think of one con for this unit, that's how much I like it. I have never felt this positive about any appliance before in my life, it is that great!
Love the 3rd Rack
I first started looking at Bosch because of stellar Consumer Report reviews. At first I was turned off because the plate/bowl holders in the bottom rack are so closely spaced it didn't look like a bowl would really fit. Also, my last dishwasher had a heater coil for drying, which the Bosch does not have. What really made my wife and I pull the trigger was the 3rd rack.
The 3rd rack is highly useful if you have kids. Sippy cup pieces and kid utensils fit perfectly up there. It is also a great place for knives because you don't have to worry about cutting yourself on them reaching for a fork or spoon in the basket on the bottom.
It turns out the lack of a heater coil is a non issue. I use the sanitize function and the dishes come out hot and dry, so whatever Bosch does without a coil it works. The bottom rack is still a hassle with bowls, but we live with it. I don't knock a star off for this because I knew the bottom rack was like this before buying.
One feature we did not buy it for is its decibel level. Our old unit was loud and I never really cared because hey it's a dishwasher and it's going to make noise. The Bosch is so quite my wife and I had to get used to looking for the red LED light projected on the floor. We were constantly opening it while it was running. It is that quite.
We have had the unit for three months now and so far it has worked perfectly.
